What To Expect After Surgery

With any eyelid surgery, some amount of swelling, discomfort and pain is expected.  The following symptoms are expected following eyelid surgery.

  • Swelling of the eyelids may be present for 1-2 weeks
  • Bruising of the eyelids may be present for 1-2 weeks
  • Eyelid asymmetry
  • Small amounts of blood or blood tinged tears
  • Blurred vision
  • Moderate pain
  • Itching and tearing

When to call my office

With any surgery, emergencies can occur. If any of the following signs or symptoms occurs, call my office immediately.

  • Fever
  • Increasing pain
  • Vision loss
  • Continuing bleeding
  • Sudden swelling
  • Other serious questions or concerns
